"Psych Nation," congratulations on completing the AP Psychology test. It has been a real journey and I know the overwhelming majority of you "executed," and did not "expire."
I am requesting, as your final blog post, that you (a) discuss what the AP Psychology testing experience was like for you compared to taking other AP tests (think about your readiness, comfort, confidence, etc) and (b) discuss "what was helpful (resources/strategies) for you in preparing you for the AP Psychology Exam." Think about the essential question, did you feel like you were prepared for the test, and if so, what helped you? If you feel like you were not prepared, why not, and did you do your part to be prepared?
Remember, when comparing the AP Psych Exam to other AP tests, do not mention other AP subjects, exams, or teachers by name. No one is on trial and our job is not to be negative or point the finger. Please and thank you!
Last year's comments will remained posted in case any of you are confused.
LASTLY
YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DISCUSS ANY TESTING SPECIFICS, OF ANY KIND, CONCERNING TEST QUESTIONS, TEST ANSWERS, SUBJECT MATTER, CASE SCENARIOS OR ANY OTHER ITEMS LISTED ON THE 2009-2010 AP PSYCHOLOGY TEST. PLEASE KEEP YOUR POST GENERAL AND ONLY DISCUSS THE EXPERIENCE. Thanks!
I am asking that all post be submitted by Friday, 5/21/10, 8:30pm.
See me for questions.

I'm Thinking I did fairly well on the test. I gave it my all, and I honestly don't think there was anything else I could have done to be more prepared. I visualized my dominance, and that should have helped greatly. =)
I was fairly prepared on the test, i completed my essays and bs'ed on a few of the points i had to make. the multiple choice i skiped few but made a lot of process of elimination guesses. other then that the test was smooth and i nailed the neurology questions
this was my first AP test and that is not that bad as i thought. I was relaxed did all what i suppose to do answer most of the multiple choice questions, and skip some of them too. I wrote my essay and i prety comfident that i earned a good score!!!!! :)
AND MOST IMPORTENT
"VISUALIZE MY DOMINANCE"
The Advanced PlacementPsychology test covered material that did not come out of the blue. 99% of the material covered on the test was covered in the class. For those who wish to past the AP test here are a 3 VERY important tips:
#1: STUDY!
#2: STUDY!
#3: STUDY!
If you do not or did not study...although the material will look familar, you will not know for sure what the answers are.
Anyway, these are my comments for the future generations who will take this class.
But one thing that is not questionable or need review or clarification is:
Mr. Fernandez Jones is a great teacher, if you do what he told my 1st period class to do, there is no doubt you will pass.
One more tip for Fernandez Jones:
Give more practice AP test, and more AP like writing tests.
It really wasnt to hard for me well the multiple choice part at least. The essays were kind of complicated and brain busters but i made it through. If i had a choice to take it again i so would not...lol
I feel that I was fairly prepared for this test. I believe that I tried my best and worked to my full potential. I did see majority of the things we learned this year on the test and your techniques to prepare us were successful. The essays were a little challenging but i tried......
The AP Psychology test was the first AP test that I had taken in my high school career and I kind of had missed feeling about it. In my opinion, I thought that the multiple choice section of the AP exam was the easiest. I thought that all the things that were taught in class was on the AP exam and if their was a question I wasn't sure about, I was a able to do process of elimination to figure the answer. On the other hand, I didn't like the writing portion of the test. The topics on the writing protion of the test was on topics that were discussed in class, but during the time of the test, I couldn't not remember anything about the topic. I thought I was somewhat prepared but I think that I should have studied a little bit more.
In the past 3 years I have taken 5 AP exams and I have had little success in passing them. When I sit and start taking the exam I have no idea what the answer is and christmas tree most of the test and just put my head down. When it comes to the essay questions there is no hope for me. But this time it was different when I opened my exam book for AP Psychology I actually knew what I was doing. As I was able to eliminate and answer questions correctly I gained more self confidence and was able to visualize my dominance. Out of the 100 questions I didn’t answer 10-15 of them which I had no idea what the answer was. However the essays were a different story. I wasn’t really sure about any of the two questions but I had enough background knowledge to make sense and at least get a few points. Overall I think I did well on my exam however I wish I would have studied more. Going through the course I didn’t think that I was learning the necessary material for the test. But as I look back now and analyze what topics that were on the exam I know that if I would have opened my psych book more often, studied my note cards instead of just doing them, and reviewing my outlines, I could have actually passed with a five. If there is one thing that I would change about this course is for there to be more AP writing practices. Even though we will not know what they will ask us on those essay questions we should be comfortable with the format, guidelines, length, and amount of subtopic you have to answer. Psychology is a complicated, interesting, controversial subject that helps explain human behavior. Trying to squeeze all the material necessary for such an expansive subject is hard, however if you have the time and dedication to do your part in studying for the test is an accomplishable task.
I came into the room completely Visualizing My Dominance! I was confident that I would do well on this test and I was extremely happy that the majority of questions on the test were the same things I went over the day and hours before the test. Although there were questions I didnt know I successfully, at least I hope, used process of elimination to come to the best conclusion. Luckily I answered all of the multiple-choice questions. The essay questions had me a bit more shaken. It was then that I began to feel the nervousness. Luckily some of these words I had studied also. Those that I didn't know, I broke them down and faked it til I made it. I felt completely prepared and if I dont get at least a three I fully intended on going back and conquering this course!
I just have to be honest with this and say I really didn’t try as hard I think I should have done for this test. I was kind of nonchalant and really didn’t take it serious because I already knew I wasn’t prepared for it. I suggest that future AP Psychology students (seniors to be exact) don’t do what I did don’t let senioritis (yes it’s real) hit you so early in the game to the point where you stop taking the course serious because it can really help you in the future. Other then that the essay part I did try to do though some terms I knew some I didn’t I’m really not expecting to get a 3 or higher on this test but even if I get a 2 I would definitely be surprised.
The multiple choice part of the exam seemed soooooooooooooooooooooo easy. I imagined it to be hard but not at all. Sometimes I was not 100 percent sure on some things so I just paired the phase with the chapters and made me decision based on that. The long response was so easy as well the question was really simple but I couldn't remember what the term was so I pretended I knew what I was talking about lol. I had studied a lot of the harder to remember stuff like neuroscience and the stages and theories but it wasn't really on the test. If I would have studied the more of simpler things like what was on the long response I would have definitely felt a lot better but I think I aced the multiple choice exam I just skipped eight that I for sure did not have a clue on. Next year students should be more encouraged to go to the AP exam review , I went this year and it was really helpful it recapped everything that I learned this year an it was put in a compact outline, this defeinatly made studying easier along with the AP cards.
WoOoW!!!!! The AP test was actually A LOT easier than the tests we’ve taken in Jonesy’s class lOl….. The multiple choice covered like everything we went over in the course and so did the essays so whether or not you pass depended upon you studying.
Tips For Next Year:
*do your AP cards as you’re learning the chapter(DON’T procrastinate)
*if you see an unknown word DON’T choose that answer because it generally is there to throw you off
*SSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDYYYYYY
The Ap Psychology test is the first AP test that I actually think that i passed. The material on the tests were covered in the class, there was very little left unknown. I mean the multiple choice portion was fairly easy because i was able to narrow all the questions to at least three wrong answers. The essay part was a little bit harder. But if you pay attention and study to what Mr. Jones says to do... you will be very successful. I thought that the last extra credit/ review thing was really helful towards helping.
I really enjoyed this AP test compared to the other ones I have taken this year and in the past. I felt that I was fairly prepared for the test and the things that I did not know was my own fault because I didn't review that study material. I advise future AP Psychology students to study constantly for the test and review their study material frequently. On the AP test, the essay portion was not as bad as I have imagined it to be, but I was able to answer that essay portion to the best of my ability. I believe the proof is in the pudding, so I will see if I did enough on my part when I got my scores. To all future AP Psychology students, even if you don't pass the AP test you will leave this class with knowledge that will you in your everyday and will stick with you. Also, you will take a lot of stuff out of this class than what you came in with.
XOXO, O'Necqua Brin
I felt that the test was nice overall. A few roadblocks here and there, only left two blank for I really didn’t know anything to make an educated guess and I wasn’t going to get an automated .50 points off. The essay part was funny, I couldn’t really remember the meanings of the words. Like Juliette, I wrote my answers like I knew what I was talking about. I remember how each paragraph I wrote gotten smaller and smaller, from a huge paragraph to like one sentence in order of what I knew the most. Then I realized that I went from writing an essay to writing a story to explaining the words to the situation. >_< That essay section was a special experience.
I don’t want to say how I think I performed on the test because I don’t want to jinx myself. I feel that the only thing that had helped me prepared most for this test was the note-cards. Outlines were pretty useless to me. But yeah, I can’t wait ‘til July for results.
This test was most undoubtaly the test I had the most confidence in and was motivated the most in. I feel as if the whole testing room had high expectations which resulted in boosting the expectations of those who felt as if they wern't going to pass. I did stuggle just a bit on the essay potion but I can guarantee I answered AT LEAST half of the essays because of previous knowledge that I have gained. Overall I give this test a 5/10 on difficulty and the class a 8/10 on learning. We have learned all but perhaps 2 concepts of this test. Oh well. According to Mr. Jones E-Mail it seems as if Lev Vygotsky is going to get whats coming to him.
My Personal experience with the AP test is that everything in which Mr. Jones taught us was on the exam. To be honest though i didn't remember half of what was on the test i do remember Mr. Jones reviewing over them. So I give Mr. Jones some praise because he was on the ball.
To say the honest truth the AP Psychology test was an exam that I wasn’t really looking forward to. Although the material is fairly interesting I am not a good test taker. However when they day of the exam arrived I was relieved because the material seemed familiar. Te test wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be and all the material in the test was discussed in class. That doesn’t mean I remembered EVERYTHING! I do have to say that the note card were a great way to study. The best technique for me to learn and comprehend work is by doing note cards . I also appreciated that my teacher motivated the students so that all we can feel confident when taking the test.
I want to agree with O'necqua because she mentioned that studying constantly is imperative .Although i didnt do this i do think that it would have helped very much. I do believe by doing tis any student could possibly pass the exam
The AP test was something I wasn't planning to take seriously. The numerous terms discourage me from having high hopes about the test, however when I stepped into the room and opened up the book I was surprised to see terms that I knew.... from that point forward I started to actually see the test in a different aspect. Some questions I knew, and some I didn't, however I was very confident. This is one of the test where I stayed awake the whole time.
The essay portion however was pretty difficult being that I didnt know some of the terms, but honestly I think there was no other way to get prepared to take this test . Mr. Jones you prep us enough for this test, and if we would of taken more initiative in studying our vocabulary cards on daily, we've would of blazed through this test!
For now, I think I did okay, so thanks for everything you've taught me this year!
I agree with Javona, the essay was pretty complicated, especially if you couldn't dissect some of the vocabulary words. I wouldn't take the essay portion over ether, however if I had a chance to, I would in fact do the multiple choice over again.
In my personal opinion , I believe that that part of the exam was doable. I felt that i was well prepared , because of all the other exams that we took. I also believe that I remembered that portion well because of all the silly stories that Mr.Jones added along . The activities we did were also very helpful.I was surprised that most of the things I studied was on the test , I believe that it was easier then i thought!
I think I did ok on the test. I feel like if I was to study more and pay more attention in class then I would have done very well. The essay was easier then the multiple choice. I recognized some stuff on the test but not all. Also I felt like I was being rushed on the test because we was far behind the test that they tried to hurry us up with the test. On one part of the test she called time on the test, but all in all I think I did ok.
Never have I been in an AP course in which the material presented was so vivid in my mind. Not only did each lesson I presented in front of the class became a personal challenge to fully understand, but I was also in awe with the way many of my classmates exposed their material. Each chapter was a journey that thought me valuable lessons that I could relate to real life scenarios. I was confident of the material I had covered in preparation for the test; however, I recognized that I could have done much more to win this series before game seven.
The pre-game huddle was amazing; me and my teammates shouted our battle cry and visualized our dominance before the tip off. Once the game started it seemed that our home advantage played a big factor in our favor. Every question was an easy lay up and there was even time for some slam dunks. However, the game was far from over and injuries began to diminish our moral and strength. A few miss shots here and there made us loose our concentration and the game was send to overtime. I knew it was my time to shine, on the huddle I told coach “I’m ready to give all I got to defeat the giant (Essay).” Those were the longest five minutes (1hr…) of my life. With the clock ticking down and been down by two points everything appeared to be in my hands. Casey passed me the ball from the side line; I felt the double mark on my breath but I knew in my hands was a miracle shot. I turned around, jump over the two defenders and shouted….. To be continued…… 07/09
Mr. Jones you are truly an inspiration to all your students and to many of your peer teachers. May all your goals and dreams be fulfilled and may you continue to impact the lives of those around you. Much love, your son.
I has two Ap exams that day, however, I can say that Ap Psychology was the only one that I confident about. There was nothing on that test we didn’t cover. If there was it was minor. Mr. Jones’s teaching method was superior for of learning the subject. I wish I had done everything he had told me to do, but then I would not be Armen. As many others I started reviewing my materials two days before the test. I am confident that I did my best, but I feel if put in few had more hours of testing I would have done a better job. I didn’t like how most of the test was about disorders but other then that it was fairly easy.
I think I did rather good on the questions that I attempted, because the ones that I knew for sure combined with those that I used the process of elimination on came out to be easy! Now as far as the essay goes, I just made sure to contradict myself multiple times for each term just to make sure that my odds of getting something right were increased. I hope I did good or else dad is going to chew me out and I'll never hear the end of it. As I had imagined, a majority of the content was neuroscience and development so I didn't have too much trouble,,, until that 10 minute alert came. The theories of personality and the different names really baffled me so I had a list of keywords that I skipped. A technique that I came up with that kept me from skipping the whole test. Every time I skipped a question, I would put a tally mark on the desk. The tallies kept me on track and made it so that I wouldn't go past my reserve of skips! But other than this, if I would have started pounding the books maybe 2 weeks earlier, and if I would have kept up with my vocab cards, I would have not had a problem at all.
Well to start off the AP Psychology Test experience was one that I felt I was well preapared for and actually was the only AP test that I was looking forward to. I visualized my dominance, studied well before the test, and was ready to knock out the test like a championship boxer. However I was unable to even throw a jab at the test because I completely forgot when it was. Walking out of 5th period I knew there was something I was forgetting but I couldn't quite put my hand on it. This feeling even carried on through lunch but although I knew I was forgetting something I just couldn't quite put the pieces together. I walked into my 7th period AP class and noticed Brin and Domonique weren't in there but still I couldn't quite put it altogether. And at that very moment my teacher(Ms. Alexander) exclaimed, "Caleb!" I looked at her with a puzzled look on my face because I knew I had done nothing wrong. She spoke again and said, "Why aren't you taking your AP Psychology Test?" and that's when I realized that I had dropped the ball and had failed to come through on the AP Psychology Test. It was like a bittersweet moment for me because I finally remembered what I was forgetting but after remembering what I had forgotten I realized it was now to late to take the test that I was building up and studying all year for. One tip that I can give future students is have a friend in the class that can give you a reminder(via text message or verbal communication, etc.)to what time the test is so you won't end up studying all year making sacrifices for a test you didn't even take like me.
The theory that makes the most sense to me is the Cannon-Bard theory. The reason I think it's the most accurate is because I strongly disagree in the James-Lange theory because I just dont believe that your happy because you smile, it just sounds a little ridiculous to me. However the Cannon-bard theory implies that you react as soon as you feel something for instance your heart starts to pound as your in fear, and neither causes the other its more of half and half and both complete the other simultaneously, which to me sounds more logical and correct. I remember when I left colombia after revisiting my family and I was getting on the airplane I was just thinking to myself that I wasnt going to see them for a very long time and I wasnt going to be in the place I love to be with the people I love and as I was leaving I started to miss them already and felt sad then began to cry.... (but time heals everything so im not that sad anymore).
Heyy :) ummm i hope I'm writing in the appropriate blog area thing. Anywho, I very much enjoyed my experience as apart of the AP psych family. I'm not going to lie... it was an EXHAUSTING year. But never have I felt more prepared for the AP test. I honestly believe I did fairly well. Something that did NOT help me was the 300 and something AP terms that we had to do because I found Barrons cards to be more helpful.. considering the fact that, a lot of the written AP terms that I wrote were based on my comprehension of the topic, which wasn't always correct.
I was really nervous going into the exam because it was my first AP test and I didn’t know what to really expect. I did feel fairly prepared though. Once I saw the multiple choice questions I relaxed. I think the essay was a little bit harder only because I had to finish two essays in the little time required. The test was fair. EVERYTHING Mr. Jones taught us in class was on the test. His practice test was much harder to me than the real AP test. Listening in class was helpful, purchasing the Barron’s Cards, and actually doing the AP terms and studying them definitely help. The Blueprints only help if you’re the one doing it, other than that I don’t really find them helpful when trying to prepare for the actual test. I waited to the last minute to start studying. If a student study all year long and don’t wait to the last minute when they start feeling the pressure to succeed, the AP test will be a breeze.
This AP test I must say was either the easiest or the one I was most prepared for out of the three that I have taken thus far. Usually going into testing I'm usually nervous or have butterflies in my stomach however for this test it was different I walked into the test confident. The whole test itself was all familiar information nothing was foreign or that i never seen before. I must say my AP vocabulary cards were a big help as well as Barrons. The practice writing tests that we took in class also prepared me for the writing portion. I may not have gotten everything correct but I know I tried my best and used process of elimination. Usually half way through AP test I'm usually tired and give up but this one I actually made it through the whole test! I also think Mr. Jones and his motivational speeches played a major role in helping me believe that I could do it!
I definitely felt more prepared for the AP Psych exam than the exams I took last year. They were killer...But the Psych exam was a lot easier than I expected. Way easier... Most questions I could think to myself, "Woah! I know this!"
Jones lent Gabe and I one of the Barron's Psych books and I can say that the practice quizzes and tests actually helped me. Or, I feel like it helped me. The week before the exam we just read things from the book and did the tests over the phone.
Well I can't really say that the AP Exam that I took last year was too hard, but at first I wasn't confident that I was going to get such a good score. On the other hand, when I took my AP Psych test I felt pretty confident and I was very thankful with Mr. Jones because I remember most of the things that I saw. And the AP Barron's book and cards were like the best resources, I learned so many things by using those and it helped me to finish the whole test.
I would have to say the AP exam wasn’t what I expected, and I believe that I feel this way due to a wonderful instructor, Mr. Jones. When I approached the first portion of the AP exam I was quite amused on how t
he questions came so easy to me. I was comfortable with each question even though there were about one or two that I wasn’t quite sure of I still was able to make the best attempt. I haven’t taken any other AP exams this was my first and if they any thing like this one I think im capable of passing with a decent score. I would describe the AP exam as nothing more, but a vocab test in disguise. All the material pertained to things that we had already learned. My best advice to those who will endure the exam in the future is Study the material that you are given and familiarize yourself with each and every one of the terms... and remember 'THE BRAIN DOESNT ALLOW CRAMMING (my favorite)
This is Carl.
What was the AP Psych test like? It wasn't bad...I mean, it was probably the test I felt most confident taking, the most prepared. I took two others and one of them was also not so bad. The Psych test wasn't hard, I had been exposed to almost everything on it in class beforehand (except maybe 1 or two questions or terms). As for preparation for the test, I was really well prepared. Though to be honest, I think I had a little too much preperation. I really think Quizlet was a ton of help. it made studying sooooo much easier. That and AlleyDog. And studying the day before the test is NOT CRAMMING! You've been going over the stuff all year, it's just more studying...and it's very helpful. Visualizing Your Dominence is important too, you gotta bite that test in the butt. And remember "50-Strong": It's not you taking the test by yourself, it's the whole Psych team...
for the most part, the test wasn't exactly what i thought it would be at all. the material seemed familiar, so i wasn't completely clueless. the writing part was actually decent & yes i must say the long little drills did help a quite bit. this ap test wasn't bad at all , being it was was my first. if anything, studying the terms are the most important thing.. especially the barron's cards which helped the most.
I think that I was prepared fully for the AP Test, this being my first AP exam I think it was a great experience.Even though I could have studied harder I think i pulled through when it mattered most. What I found to be the most helpful resource would be quizlet, and the sparkchart. The practice essays and practice tests were helpful because it helped me get familiar with the setting the I was going to be in. Altogether, I loved this year and I think we broke barriers." Belief, Execution, Domination"
AP Psych Nation (2009-2010),I believed prepared me totally for the AP Exam. Unlike my other AP courses, this course reinforced the material completely through our study sessions in the morning and afterschool. This course, unlike my others, made sure that we knew the material because of the blueprint projects; these helped me to execute and dominate this exam. I was confident while taking this test because of the 50 strong card, it personally ensured that i would do well. The AP Barrons Cards definetly helped, along with the spark notes charts which clarified concepts. But the most priceless resource was my peers; they pushed me to learn more and do better. I know that I did well on this exam because I did it in GAME 7!!!
I believe I did good on the test even though there were some questions I didn't know. At first, the questions seemed easy but they started getting harder. However, most of the questions I can honestly say i was familiar with. The essay part was relatively simple. I think I was prepared mostly because of the Barron's Cards, the Barron's book and the online studying guides. The 50 Strong War Card also helped motivate me alot. =] Thanks, Mr. Jones
I’ve never taken an AP test before, this was my first and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I felt like I could have been prepared but I wasn’t prepared, but I wasn’t and that was my fault. Mr. Jones taught everything that was on that test but I didn’t study until the last minute. I feel that if I would have focused and took the class more serious by studying on a regular basis I believe that I could have passed.
GENEVA SMITH P.1
I never took a ap test before it so i was extremely nervous. I Felt as if that i am taking a college course and only in high school which brought what if questions in my mind. what if i just forget things? what if i fail? as i started going over the test i relaized it wasnt that hard. I Think i did ok but honestly i felt i could have done much better if i would have worked hard through all semesters just not a couple. I should have applied myself more is what im saying. But the things that helped was the barrons cards, the interactive blogs, study sessions, practice essays and mostly Mr.Jones
This AP Exam was like no other because I was actually confident in it. I visualize my dominance and was ready. Especially I had to take AP Chemistry that same day in the morning. I know I did good b/c of the AP term list and spark chart were my tools to get ready for the exam. I'm also a auditory learner so the things would come to me from the different voices of the groups. Example I would hear Ines in Neuroscience and Johnny in States of Conciouness..But i think as a class we did good!!!
Compared to taking other AP tests, my testing experience was enthusiastic and confident. It was, by far, the easiest of all I took; it isn't that hard if you study everyday for a minimum of 1 hour until you pass out with knowledge and hard work rather than cramming it all on the last moments...
Things that were helpful?? Everything that (code name) teach. has thought us; using the AP terms lists to the documents to the study stacks to the outlines you take. (Even if I had a habit of being lackadaisical and forgetting mostly everything... Thank god that everything came to me on the day of the test!)
Did I feel like I was prepared for this test?? Yes, yes I was... What helped me?? Motivation.(Period)
All of the material on the test was gone over in class. The time spent in class and after school with the Barron's cards were a significant help. The blueprint projects throughout the year, although tedious, assisted greatly in learned the material. The drills in class were much harder than the essays on the AP. Mr.Jones runs a highly effective program. If you just go with the flow of his plan and put forth effort on your part there's no doubt you will pass the exam. It is not hard at all and if anyone including myself fell short it was due to our lack of dedication (or senioritis). I recommend if possible to take the class earlier in the day, from personal experience by 7th period it's very hard to stay focused on all the information given.

Hello Deborah here justing stopping by to show some love lol. Psych nation was good to me and the only negative thing I would have to say is that too much work was given to me, but other than that everything on the test was reviewed in class and I felt well prepared thank you psych nation. One advice I will give the next the class coming after me is to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! I had fun but it was hard for me to study and stay focus. The test was easy to me and I felt well prepared for the test.

Coming In Late To Psychology I Honestly Feel That I Was Prepared To Fit In && Dominate With Psych Nation. This Course Can Be Fun But Its Takes Hard Work && Team Work To Keep The Team Together. To The Upcoming Class My Dearest Advice To You Is To STUDY Like You've Never Studied Before !! Stay Organized , Don't Slack , Work Hard , Dnt Give Up ,&& Always Believe In Yourselves At All Time. I Found Ap Cards && The Study Sessions To Be VERY Helpful Also The Drills. Being Prepared For The Test I Was Well Rounded !
P.s : You Have The Best A.p Teacher In The World Take Good Care Of Him!!
-This Is Psych Nation
Compared to any other AP test that I have taken, AP Psych was by far the one that I felt most comfortable taking. As I walked in the auditorium on May 11th I was pretty confident that I would walk out of there knowing I passed the test. Most of the time I may have butterflies and/or doubts when taking almost any test. With this test I felt that I was prepared and knew most of the information presented. While taking this course the AP Barrons book and Spark chart allowing with Quizlet and Study stack helped tremendously when studying for this class. Not only learning while in class they helped to reinforce the information at home.
wow... well what can i say... this class was amazing i wish i could of participated and got more involved earlier in the year because it was a truly phenomenal experience. compared to other ap exams this class or should i say mr.jones prepared me really well. and if anyone dosent do well its only themselves to blame because mr.jones did all he can! wonderful teacher!!!
.... nicole lawrenson
This being my first AP test, I was so nervous! I had never experienced nothing similar to it, although, when the time came and i was there with the answer sheet and the test in my hand, all the fear went away :) i felt confident, i recognized the material and better yet i remembered my 50 strong card. Honestly my biggest motivation was Mr.Jones because of all the effort he had put in Psych Nation and i did not want to "break the team". Most useful when preparing for the exam for me where the ap barrons practice book and flashcards, also the ap terms list. For the most part i did feel prepared for the test. What helped me? EVERYTHING!! thanks you Mr.Jones! :)
The AP test was quite easy becasue i had all the tools i need in order to pass this test. i was somewhat nervous because i never had an AP class before, but I had a great teacher that taught me while. We had enough items to help us on the test such as Barrons cards, Spark chart, and Blueprint group. We was well prepared. I can honestly say if i don't make at least a 3 or high it my fought because Mr. Jones made sure we knew every thing. Sorry i wrote this kind of late( computer trouble). HMMM AP PSYCH WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING YET REWARDING CLASSES I RECIEVED AT HALLANDALE HIGH SCHOOL...IN MY OPINION MR,JONES PREPARES YOU FOR THE BATTLE AHEAD HIS TEACHINGS MAY SEEM A LIL OUT THERE BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE IS LIKE HIM BUT NEVER DOUBT HIM TRUST ME HE PREPARES U MORE THEN NECESSARY AND ALL HE WANTS IS TO SEE HIS STUDENTS TAKE SOMETHING WORTH LEARNING FROM HIS CLASS...GOOD LUCK AP PSYCH NATION OF 2010-11!!!
hei ppl, ap psychology is an interesting course that is not difficult to pass. The essentials needed to pass are to study vocabulary, follow jones plan(its full proof, follow this and you will pass). i felt comfortable while testing, i felt more prepared and confidant than takin other ap tests. What helped me was jones method of teaching , which also involves out of the text book teaching, he gives advice and so on that encourages you to be great. The barrons cards helped me the most because im too lazy to do the ap terms list lol barrons has it made for you , all u got to do is read and memorize!
When i actually sat down to do the AP test i was very nervous because i knew that i didnt put my all in learning the material i could have to ace the exam. As i read though i found the test to be not that difficult. All the questions that were asked were about things that we covered in the class, and if you paid attention, then you were sure to get the questions right. i wish i could have been more into the class like some other kids but i feel like it just wasnt cut out for me. Mr. Jones has a full proof plan to get you tha AP credit for college, and i dont find it difficult to obtain, the barrom cards and other sources like sparks note REALLY help out...you just have to want it..
I think I did really well on the Ap exam...I mean...I admit I was a last minute crammer and studied alot 2 weeks before the exam, but if you really pay attention the test will seem very easy. The best study tool I believe was the Barrons cards and the Ap list cards. Well good luck future Psych Nation! =]
~Kassy-wassy over and out!
I honestly can't say how I performed on the test. I don't want to get all excited, thinking i passed, and I fail. However, if you did not study at all, I do know this test would have been rather mind boggling and difficult. I studied, but, not as hard as I should have. And I can't stress enough how important it is to study/study/study. This was my first AP exam & it was very user-friendly.
The AP test experience for me was a first. This was my first AP class in high school. I BELIEVE I WAS SOMEWHAT READY, NOT BECAUSE MR.JONES WASNT ON HIS JOB BUT BECAUSE I NEVER REALLY STUDIED THAT MUCH (WHICH I NOW REGRET). THE AP TERM CARDS, SPARK CHART, OUTLINES, AND THE WHOLE BINDER ITSELF WERE GREAT STRATEGIES/RESOURCES THAT HELPED PREPARE FOR THE TEST. ALTHOUGH IF ALL U DID STUDY THE AP TERMS LIST YOU WOULD'VE PASSED. I BELIEVE I WASN'T PREPARED THOUGH BECAUSE I DIDN'T STUDY ALOT.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK U MR. JONES FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID FOR US AND UTAP THROUGHOUT OUR HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. U WILL FOREVER BE UTAP DAD =)
Well i could say that this exam date was the only one i memorized since the beginning of the year.thanks to Mr.Jones. For this test, i know i was well prepared and we had all the tools we needed to pass the test. We went over everything so there was no reason why we weren't able to pass. In the other hand, my other AP exams were a little difficult due to the lack of comprehension. The most helpful resource was the index cards and the barron cards.I think I was well prepared, but the only thing i would change is the possibility to go over each chapter at least twice so it would be easy to recall. We went over everything that was on the test. I'm glad i took this class because now i can value real hard work.
this was the most prepared test i have ever been ready for, i mean the material was there, the answers were just there, i mean you could see them reach out and you wont miss, think of it like this, little poem for you, those who wait all year along the rails, come psych test day they surely fail! the most important thing is like mister jones explains in its entirety, this test is a vocab test so your barron cards, and your ap term list are your best weapons and freinds during the test and year...... from mike to psych nation may this live on forever because i know psych nation will! michael manamon, winning isnt everything its the only thing- mr. jones....
Saving the very best for last. Advancement placement psychology was an experience that I will never forget. I have to say that out of all four of my AP test, this was the one out of the two that I was WELL prepared for. I only wish that I would have paid more attention in class because when I saw the test I realized that Mr.Jones gave us more than what we needed for the exam. We had so many resources to use that expanded our knowledge of the material. I hope the future psych nation learns from my mistake and works harder, ask questions when you're confused, do ALL of your cards, read ALL of your notes, listen to the very wise Mr.Jones and you will succeed in the class and AP test. The main resource that will help you the most are those AP cards or the Barron's cards and the spark chart.
From Nia to the future psych nation, have a positive attitude, DONT SLEEP in class, pay close attention and be prepared to get to work from DAY ONE.
SN: I would like to thank Mr.Jones for a wonderful year and being one of the few teachers in my high school career to actually care for their students :) you the MANN
